Hrrr…

So, heading out from a day’s work I talked with Rob and we didn’t even converse for two minutes when he asked if I was okay.  Basically, I sounded like I had no energy.  In a split second, I had a quick mental recall of about a dozen more similar queries throughout the past week over the same thing.  Thinking about it, only some friends and my siblings are actually aware of it…guess I was to tired to make it known eh?

At my work, I’ve taken on a new role and that is being involved in the shipping/supply portion of the company.  This takes up most of my day and has me usually moving around on foot, forklift, pickup and flatbed.  Loading, unloading, wrapping, banding, measuring, paperwork, etc.  This is not a whine…this is just showing the extra stuff that has been added to my current role as an electronics tech.

Yes, the electronics hasn’t gone away.  It just now seems to take a secondary role (kinda like how supply trumps all departments at times, other than engineering, on the Cole back then…) and a lot of projects that I’ve been working on are now taking a lot longer to accomplish.  Of course, high priority casualties such as select machines going down have me plucked from my supply job and back to my electronics role.  So I’m usually a wreck after the day is over, as it is a (rather tame, but still…) Texas summer and I tend to sweat easily.  Enough that I’m a salt shaker by the end of the day, and stop to get fries with no salt.  I just dance over them and they’re seasoned perfect, lol.

Physically, this doesn’t wear me out as I just PT’d myself to exhaustion not too long ago and that took some effort.  Mentally is probably where it’s somewhat taking its toll as I have extra things in my mind and we all know how I like to arrange and mix-match things in my head.  It’s pretty much an acclimation thing…I haven’t needed to have my brain stretched in multiple directions since…oh, the Navy.  Patience, please…you’ll get my normal (and sweat-soaked) me in about two or so weeks, har har!

So I was busy munching away about how good my friends were this morning that I failed to mention some observations I’ve had recently.  The first was Saturday meeting Chip at Grapevine where I took it easy for the most part and got a chance to look around.  Dare I amplify, maybe one day…but getting the chance to look around I may have seen the funniest and, at the same time, saddest sight I’ve ever seen.  So if I’m earlier in the morning talking about my great friends and hope of good people, here’s the yin yang when it comes to the reality that a good number of people are, well…I’ll be nice.

Finally yesterday Christine and I decided to go stalk around and have Sbarros…okay, it was a byproduct and not the goal, lol.  Well, I came up on some amusing sights and behold…I have my camera!

First was on my way to the restroom when I noticed…

…yeah, all the men symbols are headless…  Then off we go, several hours later when I look at the windows to one of the shops…

Ladies and gentlemen, any form of attire works best if you have a head…FYI.  I guess normally this last picture wouldn’t catch my attention if it weren’t for the restroom signs!

Your head…don’t leave home without it!  Yeah yeah, do as I say not as I do, lol.

Again…another odd dream. Loaded out, rifle with no mags…empties on the ground. I’m all alone. Draw my knife out and proceed through the dusty sandy street of the Middle East (I’m guessing, Yemen was my only experience and I only saw the city through binoculars…). As I went by, locals are in their shops trying to sell me a soda. What? Isn’t it goofy when you are somewhere you’ve never been and your mind isn’t jarred or bothered…like you really know what you’re doing? Yeah, like me snaking through a hostile neighborhood alone and no ammo, I was pretty confident…odd.

I woke up my usual, just started up sooner. I had to grab and take Chip to work this morning for his little vacation, so he didn’t have to leave his car at work. That was always fun and interesting, especially since I got to show him the Movie Theater. I’ll have to amplify on this someday…

Got to do a back and forth with four different friends this weekend. I’m always reminded of good things even though you would be lead to believe that the end of the world is near for all of us. From a few hundred miles away to the other side of the world, from the safety of home to knowing just about an hour or less drive makes you run into people that want you dead…there’s great people around the world.

Mickey Mouse is the greatest warrior I’ve ever seen, lol.

…and I still love my F-16s!

You know what? I just realized Labor Day is coming up. YEEEEEES! Labor Day marks the beginning, work becomes smoother sailing from here on out…until the coveted November - January period of holidays!

And an upcoming birthday party? With 80s attire?!? You don’t want to know what I wore and looked like back then…and I’m not gonna go through all the trouble to scan just so you can laugh at me, lol… Hello Monday…hello…work…

Perfect for 47…

Okay, for those of you that know me…the Dark Side of me has taken a liking to the video game “Hitman”. Coincidentally enough, I started liking this game back in 2002 during some of the more stressful times in the Navy, the one that has allowed my Dark Side to flourish (hey, whoever said I was perfect…).

Well, the movie is coming out, strangely on October 12 (those of you that do not know why this date is relevant to me may find out at this page). I like the game, but don’t know if I’m gonna like the movie. For one, the actor playing Agent 47 does not look even close to what 47 looks like. Here is what Timothy Olyphant looks like as Agent 47…does not compare to this, this and this. Of course, not really Timothy or Hollywood’s fault, give credit to the game developers to giving 47 a look that just has no peer…even I couldn’t come up with a suitable looking actor. I’m just glad they didn’t make it Vin Diesel.

So, playing the game the weapon I enjoy, which isn’t as high-speed, high-tech or sexy like the other various weapons, but I love it…is his twin 1911-type handguns that he can dual wield with (I can’t believe I’m making “dual wielding” sound like a good thing!). Well, people are already wondering what pistols will be used in the movie. The pistols in the movie trailer are definitely not it…well, the movie title. In the actual scenes, it looks like he does have something…dark/black grips and chrome plated.

Well, for the fun of it I was at SIGArms’ website earlier today. I guess I keep looking there to periodically look to see if they will post anything about their upcoming P250 pistol. In doing so, my eye was caught on a particular Revolution pistol.

Since about four or so years ago, SIG started putting out their own 1911 pistol. It was basically a 1911 with a “SIG” look. I was one of those that did like the looks, but my desire to get a 1911 pistol of any sort has gone up and down, right now it’s down. SIG used to call their 1911 pistols the “GSR” series. I believe that stood for “Granite Series - Rail”. Eventually, they renamed the Revolution after reworking the pistols (their pistols early on, from what I understand, suffered several problems with function and reliability).

Well, they have a new Revolution model called the Revolution Platinum. I think that while it may make a slight departure, these would look real good in the hands of Agent 47. SIG has a carry model which features a shorter barrel, but 47 doesn’t care about any of that. I don’t know, just was on my mind this evening.

Well, I’m still keeping my fingers crossed that maybe the movie won’t be bad…

Today on my way to work, heard the news about the prevalence of painkillers used by Americans nowadays. This seems to build upon earlier stories of the prevailing use of legal drugs to near addictive proportions being seen among us. I’ve noticed this too, from years and years of being around and watching people break out med bottles and down pills like me breaking out a bag of M&M’s and throwing chocolate shelled peanuts in my mouth. I am not a medicine person, my parents kept the doctors from giving me meds when I was little. Jury’s still out whether that was a good idea or bad, lol. But I can’t think of being a human sponge for pharmaceutical companies as being a good thing at all. I do not want to be impaired, inhibited or in a state of which I’m not unless in the most extreme of clinical or medical emergencies. The last medication I was on was for my high blood pressure in the Navy and I didn’t enjoy that. Thankfully, the only thing I throw in my mouth nowadays is food. I guess more on this some other day.

However, today…this Thursday morning…Nikon has made me happy. More things to destroy my wallet…ugh! Oh well, we’ll see…is it Friday afternoon yet?

Sean…all your fault!

It all started, some time ago, with a voicemail from Sean. Then, a SEAL was talking about physical fitness one day. Twinkie. Beer and Twinkies.
Almost all of you will have absolutely no clue, this is an inside joke and I’m just posting it…sorry you all can’t have in on the fun.

A few days ago, I ended up doing my semi-occasional browse to Anna’s blog where she posted up a song a friend of hers had done. So I listened to it. Pretty cool…then, I became hungry.

Hungry for a Twinkie. The timing was about perfect. The craziness that was trying to get Jimmy and Lisa’s wedding video to them was now over, and now Anna’s friend has a song that had me going for a Twinkie.

What could be stranger…photo ops time.

So Christine and I celebrate the completion of the video with beer and Twinkies…well, Christine just got the Twinkies.

It just so happens that tired Chip was around and wanted to be part of the photo op. So tired Chip it is…

Sean, you and your voicemail…and what is this commenting you’re doing on my MySpace?
